Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Proposal Writer to join our team. This role focuses on developing clear, persuasive proposals for government contracts. You will work with complex technical concepts, turning them into compelling narratives that help win contract awards. This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in proposal writing, government procurement processes, and technical communication.
What You’ll Do
• Lead the development of high-quality technical proposals in response to Requests for Proposals and other solicitations
• Analyze solicitation requirements to ensure full compliance with guidelines
• Work with subject matter experts and team members to gather and synthesize complex technical information
• Translate technical concepts into clear, concise, and compelling content
• Develop proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and response strategies
• Manage proposal timelines, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met
• Edit and proofread proposals for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to requirements
• Create graphics, charts, matrices, and diagrams to enhance proposal clarity
• Maintain a library of reusable proposal content and best practices
• Provide feedback on work products to maintain quality standards
Skills/background needed:
• 3-7 years of experience writing technical proposals for government contracts
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Strong research and analytical abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with using artificial intelligence tools to support work processes
• Experience with proposal management platforms
• Experience with graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop or similar tools
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into compelling content
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
Nice to have:
• Experience in specific industry sectors such as cybersecurity or IT
• Knowledge of graphic design principles
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field
