Position Summary
As a Technical Writer on the Service Support Team, you will transform complex technical knowledge into clear, accurate documentation that empowers technicians, customers, and partners to work safely and confidently with our vehicles.
You will own the full documentation lifecycle: researching with our engineering and service teams, authoring manuals and procedures, and maintaining content as our vehicles and software evolve. This role sits at the intersection of technical depth and communication clarity.
Position Responsibilities
Service & Technical Documentation
Author and maintain service manuals, diagnostic guides, safety procedures, and repair instructions.
Develop operator, maintenance, and service documents that translate complex technical systems into accessible, user-friendly content.
Partner with Service Support and Engineering teams to ensure all documentation reflects current product configurations and real-world feedback.
Procedure & Process Documentation
Maintain standard operating procedures for service workflows, including safety protocols and warranty processes.
Support the Technical Training team by developing reference materials, job aids, and supplementary content aligned with training programmes.
Document technical service updates as product changes are released.
Content Management & Quality
Manage document revision control, version tracking, and coordination for all technical content.
Validate documentation accuracy through review with subject matter experts.
Maintain consistent style, tone, and format across all documentation in alignment with brand and safety standards.
Build and manage content within a content management system to support accessible, distributed access.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with the Technical Training Team to align documentation with training programmes.
Partner with external suppliers to obtain and incorporate component documentation.
Skills/background needed: 2+ years of technical writing experience (preferably in automotive, equipment, or manufacturing). Demonstrated ability to produce clear documentation from complex technical material. Strong interviewing and research skills. Experience with content authoring tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Meticulous attention to detail, especially with safety-critical content. Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects under deadline.
Preferred experience: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). Experience documenting automotive or equipment systems. Knowledge of safety protocols and standards. Experience with structured content formats. Familiarity with instructional design methodologies.
Contract length: Permanent, full-time.
