About This Role:
We are seeking a Technical Writer to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and training materials for aviation systems. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone with a background in aviation or technical fields who wants to transition into technical writing and documentation.
You will work on creating clear, user-focused manuals, guides, checklists, training content, and reference materials. This role offers hands-on experience with real systems and the opportunity to learn military documentation standards while working with a supportive team.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop and update technical documentation including operator manuals, maintenance guides, procedures, checklists, and quick reference guides
• Create training materials such as instructor guides, student handbooks, presentations, and assessments
• Learn the assigned system through hands-on experience and training
• Work with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date
• Submit documentation for formal review and incorporate feedback
• Support training events and demonstrations as needed
• Maintain organized records of all documentation and materials
Skills/background needed:
• Aviation or military background (highly valued but not required – we provide full training)
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams
• Organised and detail-oriented mindset
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes
Helpful Experience (but not required):
• Previous technical writing or documentation experience
• Familiarity with training development methods
• Any background in military or government programmes
• Configuration management experience
