We are looking for a Technical Writer to develop, edit, and maintain clear technical documentation. You’ll translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly materials for both technical and non-technical audiences, working with engineers and program staff to gather and validate content.
What you’ll do:
• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including system manuals, standard operating procedures, and training materials
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation
• Ensure documentation complies with established standards, including formatting and version control requirements
• Collaborate with engineers and program staff to gather and validate technical content
• Maintain document version control and support reviews and updates
• Manage multiple documentation efforts simultaneously
Skills/background needed:
Required:
• 1–3 years of experience in technical writing, communications, IT, or a related field (or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience creating and editing technical documentation in a structured environment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
Preferred:
• Experience with configuration management and document control processes
• Familiarity with IT service documentation or system engineering documentation
• Experience in a government or defence-related programme
Security Clearance:
You must be eligible to obtain a security clearance. Active clearances are preferred. Eligibility requirements include citizenship and completion of a security investigation.
