What to Expect
We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and help document manufacturing processes and equipment operations. You’ll work alongside engineers and other writers to create clear, detailed documentation that helps people understand how to operate and maintain equipment safely and effectively.
In this role, you’ll capture information through notes, photographs, and recordings, then transform that raw material into Manufacturing Instructions, visual guides, training checklists, and maintenance documents. You don’t need prior experience in manufacturing—we’ll train you. What matters is your ability to learn quickly, write clearly, and take pride in creating instruction materials that actually help people do their jobs better.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll work directly with equipment and teams on the production floor to gather details in real time. You’ll also help maintain consistent documentation standards and ensure all materials follow proper version control and formatting guidelines.
What You’ll Do
• Compose clear instructional documents on manufacturing topics by walking through processes step-by-step with engineers
• Take photographs and detailed notes on the production floor to capture information for new documentation
• Use templates and style guides to ensure all documents are consistent and professional
• Translate technical information and verbal explanations into clearly written procedures anyone can follow
• Manage document versions and maintain accurate records of changes
• Handle multiple documentation projects at the same time and meet tight deadlines
• Escalate any questions or issues clearly and promptly to the team
• Contribute ideas for improving documentation processes
As you grow in this role, you may have the opportunity to mentor other writers and help manage a small documentation team.
What You’ll Bring
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Ability to translate technical or verbal information into clear, step-by-step written procedures
• Comfort with basic photography (we’ll train you on technical photography skills needed for manufacturing documentation)
• Strong listening and observation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or similar programs)
• A desire to learn and grow on the job
Prior experience in manufacturing environments is helpful but not required. We provide full training for entry-level candidates who demonstrate strong writing skills and attention to detail.
