About the role
We are looking for a Technical Writer to create training documentation and work instructions for manufacturing equipment. You will work with operations teams to develop clear, practical guides that help equipment operators perform their roles safely and effectively.
What you’ll do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Create training materials including process procedures, step-by-step guides, and instructional documentation in collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality, and safety teams• Capture photos and video to support training materials and learning programmes• Assist with creating and reviewing safety documentation as needed• Ensure training content is clear, consistent, and focuses on what learners need to know• Evaluate operator skill levels and identify areas where refresher training is needed• Work with subject matter experts to simplify complex information and remove unnecessary details• Observe and document actual equipment procedures to verify accuracy and identify gaps• Complete additional tasks to support training and operational needs
What you’ll need
Essential experience:
• Technical writing and procedure development experience• Experience creating manufacturing equipment or process documentation• Mechanical knowledge and basic equipment troubleshooting awareness• Training content creation experience• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint• Basic experience with screen capture tools and photo/video editing software• Ability to use an iPad• Three years of continuous food manufacturing experience at the same facility
Preferred:
• Technical, mechanical, or operational background
Physical requirements
This is primarily a desk-based role involving computer work, with occasional movement around the workplace for meetings and site observations. You’ll use a mouse, keyboard, and monitor regularly.
