Overview:
This is an entry-level opportunity to join a manufacturing operations team as a Technical Writer. You’ll support the team in creating and maintaining the technical documentation required for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. Working with cross-functional teams, you’ll help prepare scientifically sound documents that comply with current regulatory standards. This role is essential in maintaining excellent documentation practices across solid, powder, and liquid dosage form manufacturing.
What you’ll be doing:
• Prepare and maintain detailed manufacturing and packaging batch records
• Write and update standard operating procedures for manufacturing operations
• Author protocols and reports for scientific experiments, engineering studies, and process validations
• Collect and analyze data from scientific experiments and batches
• Support problem-solving activities using established lean principles
• Create and manage records in the manufacturing system for production and packaging
• Organize and manage team documents in shared storage systems
• Train staff on batch records, protocols, and procedures as needed
• Initiate and coordinate quality management records such as change controls and deviation reports
• Work with other departments to ensure timely approval and closure of quality records
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of experience in technical writing, laboratory work, or a related role in life sciences or manufacturing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Experience using manufacturing or quality management software systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively with teams across different departments
• Detail-oriented approach with good proofreading and editorial skills
• Adaptable and comfortable with changing responsibilities and priorities
• Personal computer skills including email, record keeping, database activity, and spreadsheet work
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, permanent role.
Location: On-site, manufacturing facility based.
Physical requirements:
This position is based in a manufacturing environment. You may be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, and talk and hear. Occasionally you may need to bend, kneel, crouch, or stoop. The role may require lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
