Role: Technical Writer

We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our growing publications team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside industry experts and develop clear, accurate documentation for complex systems. Our multidisciplinary team of technical writers, illustrators, engineers, and analysts delivers world-class technical documentation and training solutions. We develop clear, accurate documentation for complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while providing systems analysis, information development, and technical graphics that meet demanding customer requirements.
What you’ll do:
• Develop technical documentation by analyzing source data, engineering drawings, and design specifications
• Create clear, concise, and accurate descriptions and procedures to support maintenance and operations
• Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts including engineers, technicians, and team members
• Review customer feedback and redlines, determining impact and helping the team develop solutions
• Participate actively in team meetings and work with illustrators and production personnel
• Complete assignments on time to support on-time delivery of documentation
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to achieve delivery and quality goals
• As required, travel to customer sites for validation and verification activities
Skills/background needed:
• 2 or 4-year degree, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years’ experience developing technical publications for commercial or military programs
• Understanding of technical documentation standards and specifications
• Technical knowledge of operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for aircraft or ship systems
• Strong relationship-building, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in pressured situations and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to provide clear, real-time status updates on assignments
