Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Technical Writer to develop, revise, and maintain operational procedures supporting industrial manufacturing projects. This role ensures that all documentation is clear, accurate, and compliant with safety and quality standards. You will play an important part in supporting a strong safety culture by creating procedures that promote safe work practices, reduce errors, and ensure consistent execution of work.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, revise, and maintain procedures for manufacturing, testing, maintenance, quality assurance, and operational activities.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, operations personnel, quality and safety representatives to gather technical content and ensure procedures accurately reflect safe work practices.
Ensure all procedures comply with applicable regulatory and internal quality and safety standards.
Integrate safety requirements into procedural documents, including hazard identification, protective equipment requirements, critical steps, warnings, and cautions.
Format and structure documents for clarity, usability, and technical accuracy, minimizing the potential for human error.
Maintain document control and revision history in accordance with documentation protocols.
Participate in procedure reviews and validation activities to verify technical accuracy and safe execution of work.
Support audits, inspections, and regulatory assessments by providing accurate and compliant documentation.
Review and incorporate feedback to continuously improve procedural content and operational effectiveness.
Assist in training efforts by developing supporting materials and procedural references that reinforce safe work practices.
Promote a strong safety culture by identifying procedural improvements that reduce risk and support safe operations.
Skills/background needed:
Strong written communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively with teams across different departments.
Willingness to learn industrial safety principles and regulatory documentation requirements.
No prior experience required — full training provided.
Preferred qualifications:
Background or interest in technical writing or engineering.
Familiarity with document control systems.
Interest in industrial safety and regulatory compliance.
