About This Role:
We are seeking a patient and skilled tutor to support a college student with engineering communications coursework. You’ll help strengthen their written and oral communication skills, guide them through major writing assignments, and support their presentations. This is a fully remote, part-time tutoring position with flexible scheduling.
What You’ll Do:
Your tutoring sessions will focus on:
• Reviewing course readings and materials
• Strengthening written and oral communication skills
• Guidance on writing assignments and presentations
• Helping students understand and apply effective communication strategies used in engineering and professional settings
• Teaching audience analysis and document design
• Supporting revision, editing, and presentation preparation
• Reviewing graphics and multimodal communication methods
• Building critical reading and discussion skills
Skills/background needed:
• Experience tutoring or teaching technical writing and communication at the college level
• Strong technical writing and editing skills
• Ability to review course materials and provide real-time support and clarification
• Ability to help students organize ideas, develop arguments, revise drafts, and prepare presentations
• Patient and encouraging teaching style that builds student confidence
• Reliable availability and flexibility around project deadlines
Location: Fully remote – work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection
Contract length: Part-time, ongoing
Expected hours: 3–8 hours per week
