About This Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to teach writing to children and young people. You’ll work in a supportive environment where you help students develop their writing skills in a safe, engaging, and fun setting. Who We’re Looking For:
You should have a genuine passion for working with young people and a positive, high-energy approach to teaching. Experience working with children is important—this could include tutoring, camp work, volunteer roles, or similar positions. You’ll need strong communication skills, both written and spoken, and the ability to connect with students, parents, and team members clearly and professionally. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
What You’ll Do:
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Deliver one-on-one and group writing instruction to students aged 4–18 with varying ability levels
• Teach foundational writing skills to help students develop confidence and proficiency
• Create a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable learning environment where all students feel valued
• Manage behaviour and group dynamics effectively while keeping students engaged
• Plan daily lessons in creative and fun ways that suit different learning styles
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support daily activities and student development
• Model positive behaviour and act as a role model for all students
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and team members at all times
• Follow all organisational policies and codes of conduct
Skills/background needed:
• Minimum 1–5 years of writing instruction or tutoring experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with children in any capacity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to engage with students of different ages and ability levels
• Good physical condition and willingness to be active throughout the day
• Ability to respond calmly to emergency situations
• Willingness to travel to different locations
• Background clearance and criminal checks required
Working Conditions:
This is an on-site, in-person role. You’ll be working directly with students in educational settings. The role requires good physical fitness, as you may need to be active, respond to emergencies, and travel between locations.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
