Summary:
We’re looking for an engaging online instructor to teach writing and communication courses in our fully remote graduate programme. You’ll work from home, delivering course content asynchronously to students worldwide and providing meaningful feedback on their work.
About the role:
As an online instructor, you’ll teach courses in communication theory, research methods, writing, ethics, and related topics through our online learning platform. Your responsibilities will include:
• Delivering engaging asynchronous online lessons and course materials
• Grading assignments and providing constructive feedback to students within agreed timeframes
• Responding to student emails and questions promptly
• Writing clear course syllabi and learning objectives
• Submitting grades by university deadlines
• Maintaining professional and collegial communication with colleagues and students
• Completing any required professional development training
• Supporting students with varying backgrounds and learning needs
What we’re looking for:
Ideally, you’ll hold a degree (Master’s or higher) in Communication, Writing, or a related discipline. However, we welcome applications from those with strong equivalent professional experience and a demonstrable passion for teaching.
Teaching experience is beneficial but not required—we provide full training and support for those new to online instruction.
Skills/background needed:
• Familiarity with online learning platforms (we’ll train you on ours if needed)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities
• Ability to give clear, constructive feedback
• Commitment to inclusive, accessible teaching practices
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace at home
Contract length: Variable (academic year basis, typically August–May)
Hours/week: Variable (flexible scheduling, work from home)
