Social Media & Marketing Specialist – Entry Level (Remote)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented Social Media Specialist to lead our social media strategy and day-to-day content across platforms. You’ll be the voice of our brand online—building community, sparking conversations, and growing an engaged audience. In this role, you’ll work closely with the marketing team to develop campaigns and create scroll-stopping, platform-first content that supports our brand goals.

You should stay informed on digital trends, pop culture, and what’s trending across platforms—plus have a sharp eye for analytics to guide strategy. If you’re a self-starter with creative ideas and the drive to bring them to life, this is the role for you. No prior experience required—full training and support provided.

What You Will Do:

Strategy & Calendar Planning (30%)

Build social media strategies that support overall brand goals and messaging. Lead content planning and copywriting for monthly social calendars across all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, Pinterest), ensuring alignment with brand initiatives. Communicate with team members to understand business priorities and translate them into your monthly social plans. Stay informed on platform algorithm changes and propose new approaches and platforms to try. Support paid content efforts and help identify emerging opportunities.

Channel Operations & Community Management (30%)

Manage daily posting across all social platforms, including timely content sharing. Actively engage with our community through comments and direct messages. Monitor brand mentions and audience sentiment to stay informed on what people are saying. Identify opportunities to join trending conversations and expand reach. Support relationship-building with community members and brand advocates. Conduct daily social listening to stay informed on industry trends and what the community is discussing.

Creative Ideation & Development (20%)

Build a content bank for both organic and paid social use. Brief the creative team on content asset requirements and social needs. Shoot and edit timely, trend-driven content with quick turnaround to capitalize on real-time moments. Contribute ideas to campaign planning and execution from a social perspective, providing insights on top-performing content and competitive trends.

Analytics & Reporting (20%)

Track and report on key platform and content metrics, including audience growth and engagement. Monitor performance in real-time to optimize strategies and content. Use social listening to identify trends, test new approaches, and monitor what competitors are doing. Share data-informed recommendations for channel and content improvement with the team.

Skills/background needed:

Interest in social media and digital marketing. Basic understanding of how social platforms work (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest). Ability to write clearly and creatively. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Interest in analytics and data-driven thinking. Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities. Creative eye and interest in visual content. Video editing experience is helpful but not required. Familiarity with Google Analytics or similar tools is a plus. Knowledge of design tools like Canva is helpful but not required.
