About the role: We’re looking for a detail-oriented Technical Writer/Editor to join our team. You’ll work with engineers and subject matter experts to create clear, accurate technical documentation including procedure manuals, user guides, service manuals, and operational specifications. Your role will involve interpreting technical source materials, writing and editing complex documents, and ensuring all information is precise and accessible to end users.
What you’ll do:
• Derive information from technical source materials and collaborate with engineers to develop documentation
• Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents including manuals, specifications, and publications
• Gain subject knowledge by interviewing product developers and reviewing technical specifications and engineering illustrations
• Identify and resolve discrepancies within engineering documentation that may impact data accuracy
• Coordinate findings with team members and consult with engineering groups as needed
• Assist in reviewing products with customers and advise on proper use
Skills/background needed:
• A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience in technical writing, manufacturing, or related fields
• Strong ability to interpret engineering data, including parts lists and technical drawings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work with complex technical information
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and subject matter experts
• No prior experience required – full training will be provided
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with aviation or aerospace technical documentation
• Familiarity with technical authoring software
• Knowledge of XML or structured writing formats
• Experience with configuration management
• Background in aviation maintenance or manufacturing
Contract length: Full-time, permanent role
