Position Summary
We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and help create clear, professional documentation for IT security and governance projects. You’ll work with stakeholders across different departments to turn complex technical information into documents that everyone can understand—from IT specialists to senior leadership.
This is a fully remote role. No prior technical writing experience is required; we provide full training and support as you grow into this position.
Key Responsibilities
• Write and maintain IT policies, strategies, governance documents, and implementation guides
• Create clear documentation for different audiences—both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders
• Work with IT teams and other departments to gather information and understand technical requirements
• Develop diagrams, flowcharts, and visual guides to explain complex workflows and systems
• Review and edit documentation from team members to ensure quality and consistency
• Create training materials and awareness documents to help teams understand new processes and security practices
• Collaborate with program managers to track milestones, updates, and project deliverables
• Stay current with industry best practices and standards in technical writing and IT governance
Skills/background needed
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language
• Experience using common office and collaboration tools (Google Docs, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms)
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documents and projects
• Willingness to learn new tools and adapt to emerging technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field
Preferred experience
• Any background in IT support, systems administration, or cybersecurity
• Familiarity with IT security standards and best practices
• Experience creating technical diagrams or architecture documentation
• Knowledge of Agile or project management practices
