Role: Technical Writer

About the role
As a Technical Writer, you will transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports customers and internal teams. Your work will include installation guides, service manuals, owner’s manuals, assembly instructions, and other technical documents.
You’ll collaborate with engineering, product management, marketing, service, and other teams to ensure all documentation is complete, current, and follows established standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of their work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to develop expertise in technical communication.
What you’ll do
- Develop, edit, and standardize technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all publications
- Participate in installation and service procedures to document and validate technical processes and product details
- Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously, communicating any risks and identifying solutions to meet deadlines
- Organize material and apply established standards for formatting, terminology, grammar, style, and structure
- Request illustrations, photographs, diagrams, and graphic materials to support content clarity
- Deliver completed publications to print vendors, digital platforms, translators, and internal systems
- Work both independently and collaboratively, adjusting quickly to shifting priorities
- Analyze technical content to identify gaps and propose improvements
About you
No prior professional experience is required. We provide full training and support. We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong mechanical aptitude or technical background, with the ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts
- Exceptional writing, editing, and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering and product teams
- Proven ability to manage schedules, multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly to changing project needs
- Familiarity with design collaboration (a plus, but not required)
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree in journalism, science writing, English, technical communication, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience are welcome. We consider candidates at all career stages.
Technical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat is helpful. We provide training on any tools specific to the role.
Travel
This position will require occasional travel (approximately 10 percent of the time).
