About the role
We’re looking for freelance writers to produce engaging feature articles for a local lifestyle publication. You’ll write stories profiling local businesses, residents, restaurants, and community events. This is a great opportunity to build your portfolio, develop your interviewing skills, and see your work in print.
What you’ll do
Write engaging, well-researched feature articles for publication
Conduct interviews with local business owners and community members
Deliver polished, publication-ready copy that matches editorial voice and style guidelines
Collaborate with the editorial team on story ideas and assignments
Skills/background needed: Strong writing and storytelling skills. You should be comfortable conducting interviews, doing light research, and meeting deadlines. No prior professional writing experience required — we welcome beginners with passion for storytelling. Writing samples (blog posts, school assignments, or personal work) are helpful but not essential.
Nice to have
Photography experience or the ability to supply quality photos for your stories
Previous experience writing for any publication or online platform
