Are you curious about what makes stories compelling? This is a remote writing role where you’ll report on and write content across multiple formats for a digital publication and weekly newsletter.
You’ll develop your own coverage areas, research and interview sources, and craft both short and long-form pieces. The role emphasizes building relationships with contacts, identifying newsworthy topics, and delivering content that stands out.
What you’ll do:
• Write and report stories for web, print, and email newsletters
• Develop and manage source relationships
• Research topics independently and conduct interviews
• Work collaboratively with an editorial team
• Produce content in multiple formats (text, photos, video where relevant)
• Meet regular publishing deadlines
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing and editing ability
• Comfortable conducting interviews with a range of people
• Basic research and fact-checking skills
• Understanding of journalistic ethics and story structure
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and web-based communication platforms (Zoom, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in writing, journalism, or communications
• Multimedia skills (video, photography, audio) are helpful but not required
No prior journalism experience is necessary. Full training and support will be provided to help you develop your reporting and writing skills.
