About the role:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented editorial professional to join our publishing team. You’ll work with writers, researchers, and subject matter experts to guide written work from draft through final publication. Your role is essential in maintaining high editorial standards across reports, web content, social media, videos, podcasts, and other materials.
This is a fully remote position where you’ll collaborate with colleagues across different departments to ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy in everything we publish.
What you’ll do:
• Manage written projects from initial manuscript through to final publication, coordinating with authors, staff, freelancers, and designers
• Maintain project timelines and keep stakeholders updated on progress
• Review text and graphics for clarity, accuracy, and consistency with house style
• Collect and implement edits and corrections from authors and proofreaders
• Create and edit publication web pages
• Write and edit promotional copy, social media posts, newsletters, video scripts, subtitles, podcast content, and other materials
• Copyedit and proofread across multiple formats and platforms
• Support team members with editorial guidance and best practices
• Help maintain and update the style guide
• Other related tasks as needed
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, political science, or a related field
• At least two years of editorial experience (at a publishing house, media organisation, think tank, or similar)
• Strong copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking abilities
• Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
• Experience with publishing software such as InDesign or similar design tools
• Basic HTML knowledge
• Ability to simplify complex information into clear, accessible language
• Excellent project management and organisational skills
• Experience with data visualisation tools (preferred but not required)
• Knowledge of current policy debates (preferred but not required)
