We’re seeking an entry-level multimedia journalist to join our news team. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Upstate New York.
About the role:
As a multimedia journalist, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the news gathering process—from pitching story ideas to shooting and editing video content, going live on air to present your stories, and posting to the station website and social media platforms. You’ll work as a one-person band, handling multiple responsibilities across different formats and platforms.
This role offers hands-on experience across live broadcasts, breaking news coverage, and community-focused stories. You’ll receive feedback and coaching focused on professional development from experienced industry professionals.
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing and organisational skills
• Ability to shoot and edit video content using professional editing software
• Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) in a professional setting
• Creative storytelling ability
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Valid driver’s license
• A degree in Journalism, Broadcast Communications, Digital Media, or a similar field is required
