Customs Entry Specialist – Remote
We are looking for an entry-level Customs Entry Specialist to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position perfect for someone ready to launch their career in international trade and customs documentation.
About the role:
In this position, you will:
Act as a point of contact between our company and customers regarding customs clearance
Process customs and government agency entries to clear goods into the United States
Enter information, notes, and document requests into our logistics systems
Classify shipments based on tariff schedules
Send document requests to team members, suppliers, and relevant government agencies
Communicate with offices and departments on customs-related issues
File and organize documents by shipping reference numbers
Ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulatory requirements
Coordinate shipping details with forwarders, carriers, and agents
Convert and verify shipment weight, volume, and currency conversions
Maintain regular communication with customers, carriers, and vendors
Answer customer questions about tracking, tracing, and shipment status
Handle accounting processes accurately and on time
Coordinate shipment movement to final destinations
Review and issue documentation to meet government and carrier regulations
Respond promptly and professionally to emails and phone calls
Skills and background needed:
No prior customs experience required – we provide full training
Strong written and spoken English communication skills
Ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts
Excellent planning and organizational abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents and written instructions
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Strong multitasking skills
Solid mathematical and numerical accuracy
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Reliable internet connection for remote work
Willingness to learn U.S. Customs and Government Agency requirements on the job
