About This Role
We’re looking for an entry-level writer to join our prepared foods team. You’ll create and manage product orders, inventory documentation, and promotional content for our food department. This is a full-time, on-site position perfect for someone passionate about food, organisation, and clear communication.
What You’ll Do
• Write and process food product orders using established buying procedures
• Monitor and document inventory reports, spoilage logs, and temperature records
• Create and edit promotional display descriptions and product information
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and team leaders about ordering needs
• Assist with counter service during shifts as needed
• Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and product rotation documentation
• Support team inventories and financial tracking
• Provide excellent customer service and product knowledge to shoppers
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times
Skills You’ll Need
• Basic to strong math skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Willingness to learn about food products, nutrition, and seasonal trends
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to follow procedures and work as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• No prior experience required—we provide full training
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Standing and walking 6–8 hours per 8-hour shift
• Comfortable bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
• Comfortable working with food-safe cleaning products
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
