Role Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our team at our automotive shop. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our technicians, ensuring a positive experience for every client. Your approachable manner and willingness to learn will help drive customer satisfaction and support efficient shop operations.
What You’ll Do
Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs using estimating software.
Explain repair recommendations clearly to customers in easy-to-understand language.
Prepare detailed estimates for repairs using computer-aided estimating tools while ensuring transparency with clients.
Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs based on urgency and customer needs, maintaining efficient workflow.
Communicate effectively with clients throughout the repair process, providing updates on vehicle status and explaining technical issues in understandable terms.
Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments securely while maintaining excellent client communication.
Skills/background needed
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Willingness to learn automotive repair concepts and estimating software.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting customer information.
Cash handling experience or willingness to learn payment processing procedures.
Valid driver’s license required.
Rate
Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Permanent, full-time position.
Location
On-site, local position available.
