Position Summary:
We’re looking for an entry-level Content Writer to join our communications team. You’ll support digital content creation and social media management, working from home to help develop engaging posts, written materials, photography, short-form video and basic graphic design. No prior experience is required—we provide full training. You’ll work collaboratively with team members to create timely, accurate and engaging content for diverse audiences across multiple digital platforms.
What You’ll Do:
• Manage day-to-day social media content, including content development, copywriting, scheduling, publishing and monitoring across assigned platforms
• Create, adapt and publish engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube and other digital platforms
• Monitor social media channels, respond to or route comments and inquiries, and track engagement to identify improvement opportunities
• Provide live and real-time social media coverage of events, announcements and activities
• Draft, edit and proofread social media posts, website copy, newsletter content, announcements and other communications materials
• Capture, edit and prepare photography and short-form video for social media and communications channels
• Create basic graphics and visual assets using templates for social media, email, websites, presentations and other materials
• Track and report on basic social media and digital performance metrics
• Assist with website updates, newsletters, campaigns, community outreach and other communications projects as assigned
• Maintain organized content calendars, photographs, video files, templates and digital assets
• Collaborate with communications staff and team members to coordinate content and communications activities
• Work occasional evenings, weekends or other non-traditional hours for event coverage and communications activities as needed
Skills/background needed:
• Ability to write, edit and proofread clear, accurate and engaging content for different audiences and platforms
• Familiarity with major social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube
• Basic knowledge of photography, video production and editing principles
• Experience with photo and video editing software such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Premiere Pro, Photoshop) or comparable alternatives
• Ability to manage social media content calendars, scheduling and publishing while meeting deadlines
• Sound judgment when developing and publishing public-facing content
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics platforms is a plus
Education and Experience:
• A relevant bachelor’s degree OR two to four years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, social media, digital content creation or a related field (an associate degree may be substituted for additional experience)
• Experience creating and managing social media or digital content
• Portfolio or examples of relevant social media, photography, video or digital content

About This Role:
This is a work-from-home position where you’ll support communications and outreach efforts. You may occasionally be required to travel to attend events or conduct in-person coverage, or to work outside standard hours for special communications activities and event coverage.
