A judicial district court is seeking candidates for a part-time Court Reporter position. This is an on-site role based in a local courthouse. The position is available to start as soon as possible and will remain open until filled.
Position Summary
As a Court Reporter, you will be responsible for accurately recording and transcribing legal proceedings. You will work part-time (20 hours per week) in a courthouse setting, supporting the judicial process by maintaining precise records of hearings, depositions, and trials. Full training will be provided, and no prior court experience is required to apply.
Roles: Court Reporter (Stenographer, Voice Writer, or Digital Reporter)
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Skills/background needed:
We welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds. You may qualify through one of the following pathways:
For Stenographer or Voice Writer roles: Completion of an accredited court reporting school programme, or successful completion of a professional court reporting certification examination. We will consider candidates at any stage of their training journey.
For Digital Reporter roles: No formal qualifications required to start. Ideal candidates will have some familiarity with legal terminology, legal administrative practices, or a legal setting (such as paralegal or legal secretary experience), but we are happy to train the right person. You should have strong spelling, grammar, and written communication skills, and comfort operating digital audio recording equipment. Experience with transcription is a plus but not essential.

Special Requirements: All candidates will be required to pass a background check and verify eligibility to work in the United States, as per federal employment law. This is an on-site role that requires your physical presence at the courthouse.
