About the Role:
The Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in supporting classroom teachers to create an effective and engaging learning environment for students. This position involves assisting with instructional activities, managing student records, and facilitating communication between students and educators. You will help implement lesson plans, support students with diverse learning needs, and contribute to maintaining an organized and positive classroom atmosphere. By collaborating closely with teachers and other staff, you will help ensure that educational goals are met and that students receive the attention and resources they need to succeed.
What You’ll Do:
• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering instructional materials and activities
• Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and skills
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including attendance and progress logs
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement classroom management strategies
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of educational programs
• Log daily activities and student interactions to ensure consistent documentation
• Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
Skills/background needed:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children in an educational or learning environment
• Basic proficiency in managing student records and classroom documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
• Willingness to support students with diverse learning needs
• No prior teaching experience required – full training will be provided
Preferred Qualifications:
• Some college coursework in education or a related field
• Creative writing or literacy program experience
• Experience working in diverse classroom environments
• Experience supporting students with special learning needs
