We are seeking a Customs Entry Writer to help facilitate smooth and efficient customs clearance processes. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit customs entries and documentation in compliance with customs regulations and company procedures
• Classify imported goods and determine applicable customs duties and taxes
• Communicate effectively with clients, customs officials, and internal departments to resolve any issues or discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely processing of customs entries
• Stay informed about changes in customs regulations and procedures
• Provide guidance and support to clients regarding customs clearance processes
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth logistics operations
• Update and maintain customer-specific databases
• Communicate with various customs ports and officers to comply with all entry regulations and procedures
• Follow up on entry release status
Skills/background needed:
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff schedules, and import/export procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and PDF tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding is a plus, but not required
Contract length: Full-time, ongoing
