About the Role
We’re looking for an entry-level social media content writer to help build and manage our online community presence. You’ll create engaging posts, monitor conversations, and help grow our brand across multiple social platforms. No prior experience needed—we’ll train you on everything, from content strategy to platform best practices.
Daily Responsibilities
You’ll check notifications and respond to comments and messages across all accounts. You’ll curate engaging content using Canva and work from a content calendar we provide (which you can adjust as needed). You’ll monitor social media ads and their performance, keeping an eye on what’s working and what isn’t. You’ll also follow relevant industry news and repurpose content for our pages—don’t worry if you’re not an expert yet; you’ll learn as you go, and our team is here to support you.
Create content for Instagram and Facebook stories to boost engagement. You’ll mix industry-related posts with lighter, fun content to keep our audience entertained. Write engaging copy for listings and client testimonials. Keep track of trending topics and hashtags, and help spotlight community members and local businesses. You’ll also monitor algorithm changes and implement best social media practices across all our pages.
You may also help with requests from other departments, proofread content, write occasional blog articles, and keep a light presence during off-hours when you’re able. Be responsive to emails and internal messages, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need clarification or more time on a task.
Weekly Tasks
You’ll meet weekly with your manager to discuss ongoing activities and new ideas. You’ll curate and post featured content each week, write engaging copy for key listings, and schedule posts for the weekend using scheduling tools. You’ll also collaborate with other team members every other week to solve problems and brainstorm new content ideas.
Monthly Responsibilities
Create and schedule posts for upcoming holidays. Develop new engagement ideas, like asking team members to share photos or stories. Create graphics celebrating company milestones. Write a monthly industry update and create accompanying blog content. Attend monthly meetings to report on page performance and key metrics. Occasionally attend company events and training sessions to stay connected with the broader team.
Ongoing Growth
You’ll look for new platforms and emerging tools to expand our reach. Develop fresh social media initiatives and propose them to the team. Repurpose old content and create new material that stays on-brand. You may also conduct interviews via video or written format, take photos or videos at company events, and occasionally teach simple training sessions to colleagues about social media best practices.
Work independently, manage your priorities, stay accessible to the team, and bring new ideas to the table. We have an open-door policy and love fresh perspectives.
Skills/background needed: Strong written communication skills, basic familiarity with social media platforms, ability to follow a content calendar, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. Experience with Canva or similar design tools is helpful but not required. No prior social media management experience necessary.
