Skills/background needed: No prior professional writing experience required. You should have some familiarity with long-form content writing or organization. We’re looking for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, fast-working, and able to stay calm under pressure.
About the role:
This is a full-time writing support position on a small team that works on substantial nonfiction books. You’ll be part of a close-knit group delivering high-quality content under tight deadlines.
The work is intense and deadline-driven. You’ll manage hundreds of pages of transcripts and source material, draft content quickly while maintaining quality, and maintain organizational systems that keep the team moving smoothly. Most of the work is remote and flexible, with weekly in-person meetings required.
What you’ll do:
• Ingest, tag, and organize interview transcripts and research files
• Produce rough drafts of chapters, sections, summaries, and supporting copy
• Track versions, quotes, facts, and open questions across active manuscripts
• Manage materials and workflow so the team can work without friction
• Keep pace on a team already in active production
