About the role:
We’re looking for a warm, people-focused Communications Writer to bring stories, campaigns, and everyday moments to life across newsletters, social media, and visual content. You’ll take ownership of writing and production that keeps audiences, donors, volunteers, and community members connected to meaningful work. This role is perfect for someone energized by people and stories, who brings steady follow-through to everything they touch, and who thrives working with a supervisor who provides clear structure and support.
What you’ll do:
Writing: Write and produce newsletters sent multiple times per month across different audiences, each with its own voice and format.
Social & Visual Content: Handle day-to-day social media posting and captions across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Design graphics using Canva with pre-built brand templates and presets. Edit photos and handle video editing for social channels as needed. Tag and thank partners and supporters across social platforms.
Content Planning: Execute tasks on a shared content calendar, bringing campaign concepts to life from start to finished post or send.
What we’re looking for:
Strong, adaptable writing that flexes across different audiences while staying on-brand. Warm, relational energy that comes through in how you write about people. A good instinct for recognizing which stories or details fit different content types and shaping them into the right piece. The ability to take small details or brief notes and build them into full stories. A steady, reliable pace—you follow through on deadlines and keep things moving. Comfort with clear direction and high standards from a supervisor, and the ability to turn that into polished work. Visual skills in Canva and basic photo editing; if you’re newer to these, we provide brand templates and presets to help you get up to speed. Experience with social media platforms is a plus.
No prior experience required. Full training and support provided.
Skills/background needed: Writing ability, social media familiarity, basic visual design interest, attention to detail, reliability, ability to take direction.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, permanent.
