About This Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Communications Writer to help develop and execute communications strategies for clients across various industries. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work on campaign strategy, media outreach, press materials, and client communications. You’ll be part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment dedicated to creative, impactful work.
What You’ll Do
Communications & Campaign Management
• Develop and execute communications strategies and campaigns for clients
• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts
• Pitch media outlets to secure features, interviews, and coverage
• Create and manage editorial calendars and timelines
• Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and media kits
• Develop and maintain media contact lists for targeted markets
• Monitor coverage and provide reporting to clients
Event Support & Coordination
• Support planning and execution of event-related communications
• Coordinate local market outreach in advance of events
• Attend events and provide on-site media support as needed
• Manage logistics for media appearances
• Draft talking points, scripts, and outlines as needed
• Serve as a professional media liaison for clients when appropriate
Team Collaboration
• Work closely with team members to align communications strategy with overall plans
• Coordinate asset collection (photos, quotes, etc.) to support campaigns
• Ensure all achieved press is shared with internal teams for content use
• Collaborate with web teams to keep client communications pages up to date
Skills/background needed: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, experience writing press releases and professional communications, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, experience with media databases or similar tools is a plus. A degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field is preferred, and any experience in a fast-paced company environment is valuable. However, full training will be provided.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Part Time
Location: Hybrid work environment with in-office and remote flexibility.
