The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping the public, stakeholders, the media, and staff informed about our projects and initiatives. You’ll develop and implement marketing and communications strategies, create messaging for internal and external audiences, coordinate news events, and produce creative content materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement communications strategies to promote programme goals and accomplishments
• Manage internal and external communications with stakeholders
• Collaborate with team members to align communication strategies with overall objectives
• Coordinate and help implement special events, public meetings, and project tours
• Support the communications team to ensure all goals and objectives are met on time
• Monitor the effectiveness of communications with all audiences and adjust as needed
• Respond professionally to emerging issues and evolving priorities
Skills/background needed:
• Background in communications, public relations, English, or a related field (degree preferred but not required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of journalistic writing style, grammar, and punctuation
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and the public
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse audiences
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
• Flexibility and a strong work ethic
Nice to have:
• Experience working with government agencies or large programmes
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
