Are you detail-oriented and ready to start a new career? We’re looking for an Entry Level Condition Report Writer to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll inspect vehicles, document their condition, and create professional reports. No prior experience required—we’ll provide full training on all systems and processes.
About the Role:
As a Condition Report Writer, you’ll perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition and support the processing and sale of vehicles. You’ll work both in the lot and from our office systems, combining hands-on vehicle work with computer-based documentation.
What You’ll Do:
• Verify vehicle identification and update vehicle information (Year, Make, Model, Trim Lines)
• Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, and mechanical components
• Document and estimate vehicle damage accurately and professionally
• Take photographs to support your reports
• Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas
• Review and document odometer information
• Assess frame condition and document any damage
• Assess mechanical condition and document issues found
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills/background needed:
• Ability to operate a computer, laptop, or tablet
• Ability to write reports in a professional manner
• Basic knowledge of vehicles (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to use standardized lists to assign costs for damage
• Detail-oriented mindset
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Able to prioritize duties and follow through on tasks
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
• Willing to work underneath vehicles for visual frame inspection
• Able to work outside in various weather conditions
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Post-secondary training in damage assessment is a plus but not required.
