About the Role
You will create, develop, and write operational, instructional, and maintenance procedures for web-based and multimedia publication. This role involves conducting interviews with users and technical staff to gather information, then translating complex technical details into clear manuals and documents for people without a technical background. You may also document engineering processes and specifications. Full training will be provided, and you will work with guidance as you build your skills on new projects.
What You’ll Do
• Organize technical material and complete writing assignments to clear, consistent standards
• Maintain records and files of your work and revisions
• Edit and improve material prepared by other writers
• Work with customer representatives and technical staff to understand what needs to be documented
• Select or create illustrations, diagrams, and charts to explain concepts
• Observe processes and activities to understand how things work
• Review published materials and recommend improvements to format and content
• Communicate progress and changes clearly with your team
Skills/Background Needed
To succeed in this role, you should have:
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and safety procedures
• Ability to write clear, detailed reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively in front of groups
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills
• Strong written and oral communication abilities
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work well in teams and welcome feedback
• Problem-solving skills and willingness to learn continuously
• Ability to adapt to changes and manage your time effectively
