We’re looking for a talented writer to create original news analysis and reporting pieces for our daily newsletter. You’ll write engaging, thoughtful content that helps readers understand current events and complex issues from fresh perspectives.
This is a fully remote role perfect for someone who loves staying informed about world events and has a passion for clear, compelling writing. You’ll work closely with an editor and other writers to plan coverage, respond to breaking news quickly, and deliver polished pieces on tight deadlines.
What you’ll do:
• Write multiple original pieces of news analysis each week in coordination with your editor
• Deliver clean, polished copy while meeting daily deadlines
• Stay current with major news across domestic and international outlets
• Find fresh angles and new insights on widely-covered topics and events
• Plan ahead to cover anticipated news stories
• Engage with reader feedback to understand your audience better
Skills/background needed:
• 7+ years of experience writing about or reporting on news
• Strong, engaging writing style with a flair for magazine-style storytelling
• Proven ability to write insightful news analysis that stands out
• Genuine enthusiasm for staying on top of current events
• Interest in newsletters and the digital publishing landscape
• Ability to work flexibly, including some early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
