Overview:
We’re seeking a Technical Writer to join our engineering team. You’ll create and maintain technical documentation that supports product development, training initiatives, and ongoing programmes. What You’ll Do:
• Create, edit, and maintain engineering specifications, test plans, procedures, reports, and related technical documentation
• Draft, review, and edit documents to ensure consistency, clarity, grammar, and compliance with documentation standards
• Develop training documentation to support operational goals and objectives
• Coordinate document reviews and consolidate technical input from subject matter experts
• Maintain documentation throughout the product lifecycle and incorporate feedback into document revisions
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and programme teams to understand products, processes, and documentation requirements
• Ensure consistency, quality, formatting, and adherence to established documentation standards across all deliverables
Skills/Background Needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent practical experience
• Understanding of technical information and ability to simplify and communicate with non-technical people
• Ability to develop procedures and technical content with guidance from engineering experts
• Experience in aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or other regulated industries is a plus
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects and competing priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with advanced document formatting, styles, templates, and tracked changes is preferred
• Excellent technical writing, editing, proofreading, and document organisation skills
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, and technical requirements
• Ability to work closely with a team of engineers and technicians
Work Environment:
This role involves work in both a professional office environment and manufacturing areas. You’ll use standard office equipment and may occasionally work in manufacturing spaces where personal protective equipment may be required. Some travel between office locations may be needed, with minimal travel expected overall.
Location: On-site position available.
Contract Length: Full-time, permanent.
