About this role:
We’re looking for a Communications Writer to join our team and support our organization’s communications efforts. You’ll collaborate across teams, contribute to communications initiatives, and help communicate our impact to audiences including patients, partners, and the broader public.
What you’ll do:
In this role, you will develop, write, and edit clear, consistent external communications that reflect our organization’s voice and ensure quality across all materials. Your key responsibilities will include:
Write, adapt, and edit content across email, web, and social channels and formats, working in collaboration with relevant staff members
Draft communications including remarks, statements, and briefings
Develop and refine organizational materials for clarity, tone, and consistency
Translate organizational priorities into clear, audience-appropriate communications
Ensure consistency of voice across all external-facing content
Review external communications for tone, clarity, and alignment to brand standards prior to publication
Develop content aligned to approved campaign plans and organizational priorities
Draft clear content related to scientific and policy topics in partnership with relevant teams
Support internal messaging needs through content development as assigned
Collaborate with staff and leadership to support communications planning
Skills and background needed:
Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills
Ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging communications
Strong attention to detail and consistency in tone and voice
Ability to translate complex topics into accessible language tailored to different audiences and channels
Experience working across teams to develop content under deadlines
Strong organizational and communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
Prior experience in writing, editing, or communications roles is preferred but not required—full training will be provided
Experience in nonprofit, health, or science-driven organizations is a plus but not essential
