We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team. You will be responsible for planning, writing, editing, and verifying high-quality technical documents that help users and teams understand complex systems and processes.
What you’ll do:
• Work with software developers and project teams to document deliverables and project outcomes
• Write, edit, and verify technical documents including system design documents, user guides, manuals, and training materials
• Interview subject matter experts and conduct research to ensure your documentation is technically accurate
• Create new documentation and update existing materials as needed
• Check documents for completeness and accuracy, making corrections as necessary
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and track progress from start to finish
• Collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure all documentation meets quality standards
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and simply
• Experience creating different types of documents (user guides, system documentation, training materials)
• Excellent attention to detail, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with Agile software development methods is a plus
• Experience with SharePoint or basic graphic software is helpful but not required
Experience and education:
5+ years of professional experience in technical writing or a related field, or equivalent job experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required if you have relevant work experience.
Contract length: Full-time, on-site position
Location: Union, New Jersey. Local candidates preferred for this on-site role.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Reports to: Documentation Manager
