About the role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Specialist to help grow our online presence and engage with our community. You’ll create and manage content across social media platforms, develop marketing strategies, and help tell our organization’s story through digital channels. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in content creation, digital marketing, and community engagement while working from home.

What you’ll do

• Develop and execute social media strategies that align with our mission and goals

• Create, schedule, and publish engaging content including graphics, photos, videos, and stories across multiple platforms

• Manage daily social media postings and campaigns to build community engagement

• Develop and maintain a content calendar to keep posting organized and consistent

• Create digital and print marketing materials for our programmes and events

• Monitor social media performance and suggest ways to improve reach and visibility

• Maintain consistent branding, messaging, and visual standards across all platforms

• Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries from followers and community members

• Work with team members to identify stories and updates suitable for public promotion

• Support website updates and content maintenance

• Capture photos and videos at events (attending in person as needed) for content use

Skills/background needed

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Twitter

• Basic ability to create or edit graphics, photos, and videos (or willingness to learn)

• Experience with content creation and digital marketing (or a keen interest in learning)

• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other digital tools

• Organised, creative, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and community partners

• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality

• Comfortable analysing social media performance and adjusting strategies based on results
