Position Summary
We’re seeking a creative Communications Writer to support content development, marketing communications, and sales initiatives. The role focuses on creating clear, relevant, and engaging content for agricultural audiences while providing sales teams with effective customer-facing communications and marketing materials across digital, social, print, video, and other channels.
The successful candidate will combine strong agricultural industry knowledge with excellent writing, interviewing, and storytelling skills. Working closely with marketing, sales, product, and industry experts, this role will identify meaningful stories and translate technical information into content that connects with producers and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop original content for social media, websites, newsletters, advertising, sales materials, presentations, video content, and internal communications.
Identify and develop stories highlighting products, technologies, research, employees, customers, and industry activities.
Translate technical information related to genetics, reproduction, herd management, research, and technology into clear and engaging communications.
Interview producers, customers, employees, researchers, specialists, and other industry experts to create authentic and educational content.
Support the planning and development of video topics, guest selection, interview questions, scripts, and talking points.
Participate in on-camera content creation as needed.
Support marketing campaigns, product launches, social media initiatives, and regional marketing priorities.
Partner with sales teams to create customer-facing content, presentations, and communications that support commercial objectives.
Adapt content for different markets and audiences while maintaining brand standards and technical accuracy.
Support content development at industry events and customer visits, including basic photography and video capture when required.
Skills/background needed
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Agricultural Communications, or a closely related field.
Professional experience within the agricultural industry.
Strong working knowledge of agricultural production, genetics, reproduction, or related technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop clear and engaging content.
Experience in marketing communications, content development, agricultural communications, journalism, or a related role.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong interviewing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical experts, sales teams, and business leaders.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with teams across departments and time zones.
Willingness to travel occasionally and work in various environments including farms, facilities, trade shows, and customer locations.
Desirable experience
Experience with video content creation, interviewing, public speaking, or on-camera communications.
Experience developing content for social media and digital platforms.
Working knowledge of photography, video capture, and basic editing.
Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
