Position Summary
We’re seeking a creative and mission-driven Content Writer and Marketing Specialist to help elevate our organization’s brand, increase community awareness, and support our outreach efforts. This is a fully remote, entry-level position perfect for someone passionate about storytelling and making a positive impact through communications.
In this role, you’ll develop and execute marketing and communications initiatives that strengthen our reputation, engage our community, and support our mission. You’ll be an excellent storyteller who loves creating compelling content across multiple platforms. No prior professional experience is required—we provide full training and support.
What You’ll Do
• Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, websites, brochures, and marketing materials
• Develop and manage social media campaigns that increase community engagement and brand awareness
• Write and coordinate press releases and media communications
• Design marketing materials including flyers, brochures, and digital graphics using design tools
• Contribute to website updates to ensure content is current and engaging
• Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and social media
• Coordinate photography and video content to showcase programs and success stories
• Build relationships with community partners and local media contacts
• Assist with planning and promoting community events and awareness campaigns
• Stay current on marketing trends and best practices in digital communications
Skills/background needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stay organised
• Experience with or willingness to learn social media management
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Canva, or similar tools
• Basic graphic design skills or willingness to learn
• Creative thinking and strong storytelling abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
• Excellent attention to detail
• A passion for communicating about community and social impact
