Content Writer & Marketing Specialist – Work From Home

About the Role

You’ll build and manage content and marketing systems that help an organization reach more people, build influence, and create partnerships. This is a hands-on role combining high-quality content creation with the design of repeatable workflows that let a small team produce more, faster.

You’ll work across content development and production, distribution and audience growth, media relations, and team-wide marketing alignment. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to shape messaging, support outreach to key audiences, and continuously improve how the organization communicates across traditional and emerging digital channels.

You’ll also track what’s working—measuring not just activity but real outcomes—to ensure strategies stay effective and inform how they evolve. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic, detail-oriented marketer who is comfortable with AI tools, enjoys building efficient systems, and wants to amplify an organization’s impact through smart communication.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Campaign Development

Design and execute marketing campaigns across product launches, research releases, events, and advocacy moments. Create compelling content for LinkedIn, email newsletters, web pages, landing pages, blog posts, and press materials. Build templates, prompt libraries, and AI-assisted workflows to produce content faster and more consistently. Oversee production of multimedia content, ensuring it stays on-brand and aligned with priorities, and plan how each asset will be promoted and repurposed across channels before it launches.

Audience Growth & Distribution

Grow the organization’s email list, newsletter, and social media audiences against clear engagement goals. Support leadership and staff in sharing content and amplifying messages. Develop partnerships with external organizations as distribution channels for co-created content. Maintain editorial calendars and production timelines to keep everything on schedule.

Media & Communications

Position the organization as a trusted authority by pitching media opportunities, supporting op-eds and speaking engagements, and building relationships with journalists and media contacts. Prepare rapid-response communications and media reports as needed. Help shape co-branded announcements and storytelling with partners. Build visibility in AI-powered search tools by structuring content so it appears in AI-generated answers.

Marketing Systems & Operations

Build and maintain the tools and processes behind marketing: reusable workflows, templates, brand guidelines, and prompt libraries that help the whole team work more efficiently. Identify where AI tools can safely speed up work like drafting, repurposing assets, and reporting. Document standards so other teams can self-serve on presentations and communications using shared templates.

Internal Communications

Keep staff informed and aligned on messaging, campaigns, and organizational priorities. Create on-brand materials and templates that make it easy for teams across the organization to communicate consistently.

Research, Measurement & Strategy Support

Monitor conversations and trends in your field, flag opportunities to engage, and share insights to inform strategy. Own measurement that tracks both traditional performance (reach, engagement, conversions) and modern visibility (how often the organization appears in AI-generated answers). Translate data into recommendations that shape what the organization does next. Draft talking points and briefs to support presentations, meetings, and partner conversations.

Skills & Background Needed

You’ll need strong written and verbal communication skills and experience running multi-channel marketing campaigns with measurable results. You should be comfortable using AI tools daily as part of your work and ideally have built prompts or workflows that help a team work faster. Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines, combined with the ability to think strategically and adapt priorities, is essential. You should have working knowledge of artificial intelligence and its impact on policy, ethics, workforce, and education. Familiarity with marketing tools like email platforms, project management software, video editing, and media tracking is valuable. Knowledge of AI search and how organizations earn visibility in AI-generated answers is a bonus.
