About the Role
You will write, edit, and publish web content for research and information websites. This includes public-facing web pages, internal sites, project databases, and user documentation. This is a content and editorial role focused on managing content through user-friendly interfaces—no coding required.
Your work will involve ensuring web content is clear, accessible, well-organised, and easy to find. You’ll also create training materials and help other team members understand best practices for web writing and content quality. The ability to explain web concepts to non-technical people is just as important as doing the work itself.
What You’ll Do
• Write and edit web content and documentation
• Manage content using content management systems
• Ensure web pages meet accessibility standards
• Handle images: crop, resize, and prepare them for web use
• Check data and content for accuracy and quality
• Write clear training materials for other staff
• Deliver training sessions in person and online
• Apply search engine optimisation principles to content
• Maintain link integrity and keep pages current
Skills and Experience You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field
• 5–7 years of experience managing web content
• Hands-on experience with content management systems
• Experience writing and editing for the web
• Experience creating training materials and presenting to groups
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards
• Ability to use basic graphics software to edit images
• Clear writing and confident communication skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with specific content management systems
• Experience with internal site platforms
• Database content coordination experience
• Background in transportation or research fields
Contract length: Full-time, permanent role
Hours: Full-time, business hours, Monday to Friday
Location: On-site position. Work will be based at the workplace with flexibility for remote work subject to approval.
