Do you have a passion for the written word and enjoy designing compelling page layouts? We’re looking for a full-time copy editor and page designer to join our print desk team.
You’ll work on editing and designing pages for a variety of publications, including news, sports, business, and features sections. This is a hands-on role where accuracy, creativity, and attention to detail really matter.
What you’ll do:
Accurately edit copy and write headlines across different sections
Design engaging page layouts quickly and accurately
Apply AP style and grammar standards consistently
Make independent decisions on story placement and page structure
Skills/background needed:
Strong editing and proofreading abilities
Experience or willingness to learn design software such as InDesign or Photoshop
Solid knowledge of AP style and grammar
Excellent attention to detail
College degree in journalism or a related field preferred
What to expect:
Evening hours with some weekend work as assigned. Full training will be provided to help you succeed in this role.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
