Copywriter – Brand & Technical Content (Entry Level)

About the Role

We’re looking for an Entry Level Copywriter to help develop and maintain a clear, distinctive verbal identity across multiple channels and formats. You’ll write brand copy, product names, website content, sales materials, presentations, and customer-facing communications. This is a hands-on writing role where you’ll establish standards and guidelines, but also do the actual writing day-to-day.

Language is part of our design system. Every sentence should earn its place. You’ll work closely with designers from the start of each project so that writing and visual design develop together, not separately.

What You’ll Do

• Write clear, distinctive copy for websites, brand platforms, campaigns, product launches, packaging, sales materials, presentations, and other customer-facing work
• Develop names for products, platforms, programmes, and capabilities, along with the reasoning behind naming choices
• Create and maintain standards for voice, terminology, grammar, and usage across all communications
• Partner with design and creative teams from the beginning of each project
• Interview subject-matter experts, specialists, and leaders to identify the clearest way to express ideas
• Edit and refine technical and scientific materials for clarity and readability while preserving accuracy
• Draft executive communications including presentations, company statements, and announcements
• Review customer-facing materials before publication to catch weak language, inconsistencies, and unnecessary complexity
• Build practical guides, terminology references, and messaging frameworks to help teams communicate consistently

Skills/background needed

• Excellent command of grammar, syntax, tone, and how to organise information clearly
• Strong editorial judgment and the ability to improve technical writing without oversimplifying it
• Comfort with learning unfamiliar subjects quickly and knowing when to ask expert questions
• Experience working with designers and writing within visual and production constraints
• Ability to move between strategic messaging, naming, long-form copy, and detailed line editing
• Strong organisational skills and attention to consistency across multiple projects
• A restrained, precise writing style that values clarity and specificity
• Experience writing for science, technology, industrial products, or other technically complex fields is preferred, but not required—intellectual curiosity and demonstrated editorial judgment matter most
• No prior professional experience necessary; full training and support provided

What You’ll Learn

You’ll develop expertise in brand voice and verbal identity, learn how to work effectively with design and creative teams, and gain experience editing and clarifying complex technical material. You’ll build a portfolio of real work across multiple formats and channels, and you’ll develop the editorial judgment and communication skills that are valuable across any writing career.

What to Include in Your Application

Please submit a focused portfolio of your writing work. We’re particularly interested in examples that show:

• Brand voice or verbal identity work
• Website or product positioning copy
• Product or platform naming
• Copy created in partnership with designers
• Technical or complex material that you’ve made clearer through editing
• Executive communications, if you have examples

For each example, briefly describe the audience, what you were trying to achieve, any constraints you worked within, and what you specifically contributed. Redacted or reconstructed samples are welcome if you need to protect confidential work.

What We’re Looking For

You’re someone who knows when to cut a word, when to keep one, and when the strongest sentence is the simplest one. You’re comfortable working with complex subjects, but you never use complexity to hide unclear thinking. You believe that writing is part of design and should be treated with the same care and intention.
