Editorial Associate – Full Time

We’re seeking a full-time Editorial Associate to join our publishing team and provide essential support for textbooks and digital products. This role offers the opportunity to support both traditional editorial processes and emerging digital publishing initiatives.

In this position, you will be responsible for tasks that relate to the editorial development of academic textbooks and companion digital content. You may also engage in communication with authors in a variety of disciplines as you assist project editors and their assigned authors.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in the editorial process. You should be able to learn new programs and processes quickly, have curiosity about publishing, and have the drive to complete work thoroughly and efficiently. This position requires someone who is eager to support a team, with a collaborative spirit and a get-it-done attitude. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow a career in publishing.

Responsibilities

Support editorial staff with the receipt and review of manuscripts and interactive content, including formatting text and applying basic markup to prepare materials for production.

Liaise with other internal teams—including licensing, marketing, creative, and operations—at varying phases throughout the publication process.

Log materials and provide research assistance.

Clean content received as scans from hard copy.

Assist editors with peer reviews and benchmarking.

Coordinate assignments to freelance vendors.

Use project tracking databases and keep records up to date.

Maintain telephone and email correspondence with clients under direction.

Assist other departments during busy periods to ensure publication dates are met.

As you develop further expertise, the position may grow to involve pitching and developing new processes, providing manuscript feedback directly to authors, assisting in preparing interactive courseware elements, and taking part in training new employees.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience is required.
