About the Role
We’re looking for an Editorial Manager to lead a small team of writers creating customer-facing technical documentation. You’ll manage workloads, establish priorities, maintain style consistency across projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation stays accurate and up to date. You’ll also contribute your own writing and editorial skills as needed, and participate in team leadership meetings.
This is an on-site position based at our workplace. You’ll work with writers who produce documentation in multiple formats and explore emerging tools to improve how we create and deliver content.
What You’ll Do
• Track and maintain project status for the writing team• Lead the team through continuous improvement initiatives, improving both internal processes and customer-facing documentation• Collaborate with engineering and project managers to clarify documentation needs, balance writer workloads, and meet schedules• Review and provide editorial feedback on various documents as needed• Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and quality assurance to keep documentation current and consistent
Skills/Background Needed
• Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent professional experience• 5 years of people management experience in a team environment• Experience with MadCap Flare and multi-format documentation (CHM, PDF outputs)• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or GitHub• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects with multiple moving parts• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with project managers, functional managers, and quality assurance teams• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
Nice to Have
• Experience with Markdown or UI design tools• Familiarity with product data management systems• Background in technical fields or equipment testing
