Position: Part-time, In-Person English Reading & Writing Tutor for Elementary & Middle School Students
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate tutor to help elementary and middle school students develop their English reading, writing, and communication skills. You’ll work with students in small groups or one-on-one settings, guiding them to become confident readers and writers. No prior tutoring experience is required — full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
• Teach English reading and writing fundamentals to elementary or middle school students
• Help develop comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and essay writing skills
• Provide constructive feedback on assignments and support academic improvement
• Prepare lesson materials tailored to each student’s needs
• Encourage students’ interest in literature and clear communication
Skills/background needed:
• Strong knowledge of English grammar, essay writing, and reading comprehension
• Patient, responsible, and genuinely passionate about teaching
• Ability to teach in-person classes
• A high school diploma or higher (Bachelor’s degree a plus)
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is helpful but not required
Contract length: Ongoing, part-time
Schedule: Flexible part-time hours, including after-school, weekend, and summer weekday availability
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application
