Junior Content Writer & Client Outreach Specialist – Part Time

About This Role

This position begins part-time with opportunities for increased compensation and potential advancement to full-time employment based on performance, reliability, and overall contribution.

This is a hybrid social media, content creation, and client outreach support position. You will work on-site at our local facility, combining behind-the-scenes content creation with proactive business development through personalized client outreach.

The ideal candidate is comfortable interacting with filmmaking and production professionals, capturing engaging visual content, identifying potential clients through social media channels, and initiating personalized conversations on behalf of the company.

This is not a desk-based scheduling position. You will notice interesting production moments, equipment setups, and activities throughout the day and see them as opportunities to create engaging content. You will also take initiative in identifying and reaching out to potential clients rather than waiting for inbound inquiries.

Primary Responsibilities

Social Media Content Creation

You will maintain an active and consistent social media presence, with a focus on Instagram. Your responsibilities will include:

Create and publish at least three Instagram Stories per scheduled workday.

Capture engaging behind-the-scenes footage of equipment preparation, tests, setups, demonstrations, and activity around the facility.

Proactively identify opportunities for social media content throughout your workday.

Ask clients for permission before filming their work, equipment, or activities.

When multiple clients are working, approach each one for filming permission rather than relying on a single source for content.

Capture a variety of short-form video clips, photographs, equipment close-ups, and other visually interesting material.

Post approved content to the company’s social media accounts.

Obtain management approval before publishing content outside established categories.

Write appropriate captions, story text, tags, and supporting copy when necessary.

Maintain a professional visual presentation consistent with industry standards.

Tag participating clients, professionals, companies, manufacturers, or collaborators when appropriate.

The goal is to develop a useful library of high-quality content that keeps the social presence active even during slower periods.

Content Library & Asset Management

Not every piece of content needs to be published immediately. You will develop and maintain an organized content library within the company’s cloud storage system. This includes:

Uploading usable photographs and video clips to designated folders.

Organizing footage so content can be easily located and reused.

Identifying the client, project, equipment, or subject of footage where appropriate.

Separating published content from unused material when practical.

Preserving high-quality footage for future Stories, videos, and marketing purposes.

Building a reserve of content that can be published during slower days.

Capturing more quality content than immediately needed is encouraged—a strong archive gives the company greater flexibility to maintain consistent marketing activity.

Client Outreach & Business Development

A major component of this position is proactive client outreach. You will help maintain existing industry relationships while identifying potential new clients. Outreach may be conducted through:

Direct messaging on social media;

Email;

Telephone calls; and

Other company-approved communication channels.

Potential outreach targets include previous clients, social media followers in your area, cinematographers, camera operators, directors, producers, production companies, independent filmmakers, commercial creators, music-video production teams, and other relevant entertainment industry professionals.

Personalized Outreach

We specifically value quality outreach over mass messaging. You should be capable of researching a prospective client’s work before initiating contact. Each outreach message should be appropriately personalized by referencing:

A recent project or work;

The individual’s professional specialization;

A production company’s portfolio;

Equipment or content they have shared; or

Another genuine reason why the company’s services may be relevant to them.

Generic copy-and-paste messages sent to large numbers of people are discouraged. The objective is to begin genuine professional conversations and introduce the company in a cordial, relevant, and professional manner.

Relationship Management & Follow-Up

Initial outreach is only one part of the responsibility. You should also:

Monitor responses to outreach;

Identify interested prospects;

Conduct appropriate follow-up communications;

Reconnect with previous clients when appropriate;

Refer inquiries to the appropriate team member;

Maintain professional and cordial communication;

Identify promising opportunities for management follow-up; and

Help maintain continuity between initial outreach and an eventual inquiry or client relationship.

You are not expected to aggressively pressure prospective clients. The goal is to establish professional relationships and maintain visibility within the industry.

Administrative Support

The position may periodically include reasonable administrative assignments, such as organizing marketing materials, updating client information, supporting facility operations, assisting with communications, and helping prepare materials for upcoming projects or events. Administrative responsibilities will be balanced with your primary content creation and outreach work.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

Proactive and self-motivated;

Comfortable communicating with new people;

Familiar with Instagram and short-form social media content;

Able to capture visually appealing smartphone video and photography;

Comfortable writing professional but personable messages;

Capable of researching prospective clients and personalizing outreach;

Organized and capable of maintaining digital content libraries;

Reliable with follow-up and communication;

Comfortable working independently without requiring constant direction;

Interested in filmmaking, cinematography, photography, media, or entertainment;

Professional when interacting with clients in a production environment; and

Able to balance creative responsibilities with measurable business-development objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is particularly valuable: social media management, content creation, photography or videography, film or television production, marketing, sales or business development, client relations, or entertainment-industry networking.

Familiarity with professional production equipment or industry terminology is a plus, but candidates with strong social media and outreach skills who are eager to learn are also encouraged to apply.

What Success Looks Like

A successful person in this role will help develop:

Consistent Content: Social media accounts remain active and regularly showcase what is happening at the facility.

A Growing Content Library: A substantial archive of high-quality footage that can be used during both busy and slow periods.

Stronger Client Relationships: Previous clients remain connected and are periodically reminded of company services.

New Industry Connections: More filmmakers, cinematographers, producers, and production companies become familiar with the company.

Qualified Opportunities: Outreach generates genuine conversations, inquiries, referrals, and potential long-term relationships.

Measurable Activity: Management has clear understanding of social media production, outreach activity, responses, and opportunities being generated.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position at a local facility. You will regularly interact with clients and should maintain a friendly, professional, and service-oriented demeanor. You will have regular exposure to professional equipment, filmmakers, cinematographers, producers, and other industry professionals.

Why This Role May Be Right For You

This position can be particularly valuable if you want to build relationships within the film and production industry while developing experience in social media, content creation, client relations, and business development. Rather than creating content for a purely digital business, you will have regular access to real-world productions, professional equipment, filmmakers, and other material that can be turned into compelling industry-specific content.

We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the role, bring ideas to the table, develop relationships, and help strengthen the company’s presence in the filmmaking community.

Expected hours: 24.0 per week

Contract length: Part Time
