About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated copywriter to help create short-form content based on current events and global news. This role is ideal for someone with strong writing skills who enjoys working quickly and staying informed about world events.
Your job: track current events in real time and turn them into clear, concise, and compelling copy—often same-day. If you’re someone who follows multiple news sources regularly, you’ll thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor breaking news and developing stories across politics, economics, technology, and culture
• Write concise, accurate, and engaging scripts and outlines
• Summarize complex stories into clear, digestible talking points
• Suggest story ideas and flag important developments
• Revise copy quickly based on feedback
• Maintain a neutral, factual tone aligned with journalistic standards
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing skills—clear, concise, and fast
• Genuine interest in current events and global affairs
• Comfortable working on tight deadlines and adapting to breaking news
• Good research instincts and attention to fact-checking
• Familiarity with major news outlets and sources
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
• Experience in journalism, newsletters, or digital media is a plus
• Experience writing for audio or video is helpful but not required
• Basic knowledge of geopolitics, finance, or international policy is a bonus
